He died Dec. 29, 1889, at his residence in Harrison square, Dorchester, and was buried with Masonic honors by Boston Commandery. Private graveside services were conducted on March 21 by Reverend Paul Millen of the Tewksbury Congregational Church. Interment was in the Tewksbury Cemetery, Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
